With over 20 years of live show production experience, LiveShow Logistics was founded to facilitate performance artists’ tours. They typically haul audiovisual equipment across the country. In early 2020 when COVID-19 became a worldwide pandemic, the live event industry came to a halt due to social distancing orders and regulations limiting large congregations of crowds. Brian Barth, Owner-Operator of LiveShow Logistics, knew the business had to adapt to keep his trucks running.
They found a solution with COOP to utilize their idle vehicles. With the vehicle-sharing platform, they’ve been able to get their fleet consistently out on the road to generate more than enough revenue to cover their vehicles’ costs.
“I’ve already been able to make enough to cover our lease payment [and] the trailer’s maintenance in just one month,” Brian said.
Since joining, he has had many rental opportunities that have kept his fleet moving. The user friendliness of the platform gave him peace of mind to focus on other parts of his business. After listing his vehicles completing transactions was easy. All he needs to do is approve the rental on the app and give the Renter the code to his lockbox in his monitored parking lot.
Companies across the country were feeling the effect of the coronavirus on their bottom line. Being in the live event industry, LiveShow Logistics felt those effects about as dramatically as possible. Suddenly, a fully booked April and May became months of cancelled tours. That’s where COOP came in.
“Seeing all those sitting vehicles your mind does start to wander: What am I going to do? That’s where COOP allowed me to keep on moving,” Brain said.
He started by listing just a few trailers, and soon enough got a rental from a business hauling water as an essential good during the peak of the crisis. He felt good about renting his trailers to companies that were helping to get critical goods delivered across the country. He knew it was an opportunity for his business to contribute to the pandemic in their own way and it would never have been possible without the platform.
Even though Liveshow Logistics joined COOP during special circumstances, they found a partner that the company can move forward with outside of those trying times.
