Your First COOP Rental Transaction – What to Expect?

COOP isn’t your traditional truck rental company. COOP is the leading truck and trailer sharing platform that connects companies that need rental vehicles with businesses that have idle vehicles. Together, companies in need of capacity can get the rental vehicles they need and businesses with sitting trucks can get theirs off the lot.

With our guidance your first truck-sharing experience will be an easy one. Let’s explore how to navigate your first rental with confidence, so you spend less time worrying and more time on the road.

We’re excited to see you reinvent truck rental for your business. Here are a few things to keep in mind to get the most out of your reservation.

Start Your Rental

Every rental starts with a reservation. Search for the vehicle with the specs, price, and availability you need on our app. Most transactions should be approved within minutes. If at any point you need help, our team is here to help you find the right-fit vehicle for your needs.

Interact with the Owner

Got a rental approved? Great! If you like, talk to the Owner to confirm what you see on their listing such as the address or the best time of day for pick-up and drop-off. A question that you may want to ask is if there are any special instructions for picking up the truck (a gate code, key location, ect.).

Through the platform you should be able to find any necessary instructions. Owners are asked to include them as part of COOP’s listing process. Your vehicle’s Owner will be your first resource if you have any questions along the way.

Good communication with the Owner is always a good way to get a high rating at the end of each transaction. Always relay any special instructions to your driver.

Pick Up the Vehicle

On the day you’re scheduled to start your rental, you’ll receive an email and text message that tells you how to pick-up the vehicle from the Owner. Once you arrive, you’ll follow the pick-up instructions given to you. It is an easy step-by-step process to take pictures of the vehicle and record the odometer.

Once there, follow the Owner’s pick-up instructions. Your driver should do a full walkaround and upload photos of the vehicle to document its condition. They should capture:

  • Front of the vehicle
  • Sides of the vehicle, including tires
  • Cargo bay
  • Mileage
  • Fuel Level
  • Refrigeration Hours (where applicable)

This process can all be done easily with our mobile app, available on Google Play or The App Store. It should not take any longer than a few minutes.

Our team is available to assist you any time. Once you’ve completed the pick-up process, you can hop in the truck and get rolling!

Get Out on the Road

While out on the road, take care of the vehicle like it’s your own. Ensure the vehicle stays clean and refrain from smoking in the truck. Respect any Owner’s guidelines, and make sure to refill the gas to its original levels – just as it was given to you.

If you experience an emergency situation, please call 911. If you have a mechanical breakdown, flat tire or other issues with your vehicle, please contact our 24/7 roadside assistance team at Contact Us (coop.com)

Drop Off the Vehicle

On the day you’re scheduled to return the vehicle, you’ll receive instructions for vehicle drop-off. Almost every time you’ll return your vehicle to the same location and in the same way as the pick-up, but be sure to double check for any special instructions.

Important step, your driver must complete the drop-off process. Tell us when the vehicle has been dropped off with the straightforward steps on your reservation. We need this information to complete your rental.

At this point the Owner will do a walkaround of the vehicle. They will take photos of the vehicle’s condition just as you had at the beginning of the rental. And you’re done, that’s it!

We’re there to help every step along the way, know that you can always reach out even as you end your rental.

Rate and Review

After you have returned the Owner’s vehicle, be sure to leave a rating for the Owner. We use this information to make the rental experience as consistent as possible.

Now that you know how to rent with the platform, you can use it for your business’ demands. A Renter like you, Mt. Pisgah Food Pantry, built a relationship that regularly got them the truck they needed to grow their community service. Find the right vehicles on COOP from local commercial vehicle Owners. You’ll soon start building great relationships in your business network through your rentals.
